Sega Genesis

Sega Genesis

The Sega Mega Drive was a 16-bit video game console released by Sega in Japan (1988), Europe (1990) and most of the rest of the world. It debuted under the name Sega Genesis in North America (1989), as Sega was unable to secure legal rights to the Mega Drive name in that region. It was a competitor to the Super Nintendo and the last Sega game system regarded in hindsight as successful.
