Yeah yeah, late birthdays are the worst. Especially the ones 4 days before Christmas. . .

Not like I'll have the money for a 360 any time this year anyway.

lol u got some crazy age system... we've got a pretty crazy one in the uk but at least we use the numbers for the age you gotta be to buy it (12, 15, 18, ect). I've been looking at the 360 now a little more in detail.... I'm kinda impressed but tbh I think it's gonna be dreamcast like (aka before it's time) but the problem is MS with their stupid ammounts of money will pay developers to make games for them if developers start drifiting towards PS3 or Revolution.... tbh I'm only going for a revolution because it actaully seems to be a step forward rather than just upping the specs of the existing machine

What is the 360 gonna do when the next-gen systems appear (to include itself)? My PS2 was dead graphic wise when the Xbox launched. I'm still playing my PS2 and GC to death for lack of fun games (besides Halo1/2, Ninja Gaiden Black, DOA fighters and Gotham) on the xbox.

The Xbox had its chance to improve gameplay with awesome graphics. Now they launched the same kind of system...its superior to all graphically speaking, but the other next gen systems that are yet to be released (its a 32X of my Xbox).

My bud has it, the controller is a marvel of industry and is a pleasure to manhandle (my only complaint is for the premium to have the wireless and wired control, we (4p) are taking turns on a (2p with a wired) rare game thats just not perfect enough). The system feels like a Dreamcast to me. In the end, as a seasoned console buyer (that has some failed systems under his belt), I'm going to wait for the whole game to unfold their cards (what is the PS3s projected price anyway?).

The ex-box 360 has to deliver on a whole generation of our console's life expectancy. Otherwise they are going to be out classed later. Capcom has shown that a gameplay and graphics powerhouse can be ported (PS2's RE4 seems impossible and gots new content). PS2 my Resident Evil 4 and while you are at it, 360 my Metal Gear Solid 4.

Woo, first post in a while.

Let me just say firstly, I have no interest in consoles at the moment, they are too expensive, and so are the games, so in the meantime I am sticking with my PC.

Ok, first off I dont think people should already be judging the xbox 360, I mean come on guys, it has just been released. Also as for people comparing it to dreamcast, I have another comparison for you.

There was a console released, before the other companies had released their next gen consoles, although this console was outclassed graphically by both the consoles that followed it, this console managed to maintain a foothold as the biggest selling console worldwide. Why was this? In my personal opinion it was because;

A. They got there first
B. This was their second console, and they merely built on the dominance that they had the previous generation.

If you hadnt guessed, this is the ps2 Im talking about, released before the competition, outclassed graphically, but still came out the overall winner.

What Im trying to say is, the tables have turned - now the xbox 360 has been released first, and all the xbox fanboys, and the true hardcore gamers will be buying one, regardless of what you think of the console now, it has just been released, it hasnt even got started yet.

And as for you people trying to compare the xbox 360 to the ps3 or revolution - please STFU

Have you played a ps3? Have you even seen footage of any games running in real time? Do you know when its gonna be released? Do you know how much its going to cost?

If im not mistaken, the answer to these questions is no.

As for this whole Blu Ray/DVD debate, I dont really see the issue. Blu-ray is not going to be standardised for at least 2 years, because at the end of the day, it isnt affordable. Fantastic, PS3 can have 50gb games, but wait a second, lets not forget most games at the moment dont need more that 9gb on one disc.

Another factor you may not have considered, the price of games on PS3 - they arent gonna be cheap since they are using the cutting edge blu ray technology, it wouldnt shock me if you were paying $80 USD per game.

Again for the record, I have no preference to any console, however seeing that only one of them is currently out, I dont see how anyone can try and compare the xbox 360 to the other, unreleased consoles.

EDIT:

P.S. Ziptal, your sig is amazing! :D

We should be applauding the 360 and worship it as the newest best thing in gaming. The thing must be powerful. Its trying to cut into the market share of the PS2 , Gamecube and the old xbox itself. Which by the way, now is best time ever for the xbox. It's got the new good games and the great back catalog.

The 360 has got to be compared to a Dreamcast (launch-wise). The Dreamcast had great launch and wasn't rushed (the crashing games on the 360 are unacceptable). It just sputtered out due to the anticipation and launch of a better next gen system.

As gamers we all know the systems got a certain lifespan. With the revolution it is now even harder to try to buy a system based on past performance (that new control scheme just gots me doubting it). The PS3 gots my favorite games lined up and ready to go during or after launch (whenever its got a solid launch date and within the price range its got buyer in me).

Besides the fact that I couldn't afford or even play one. An xbox fell in my lap. Yeah, awesome graphics and a few awesome games (mostly afterthought ports to the xbox's audience). It's was still in the fight and could of squeezed those games out that only come from a system that is being phazed out, pushed to the max and could still produce classics (SNES and PSone).

I'm not anti-360 its just that we can't all masturbate all over ourselves and faint at a new console's feet. The 360 is one of the only other consoles (like the Dreamcast) to try and punch first. The hit looks powerful, lets hope it gets a knockout though? I'm going to play the waiting game (besides my friend pwns a 360) and not invest. We should all view the 360 with some skepticism. Premium and core system is a joke. They should of sold the N64 without an analog or the PSone without a CDrom (if the price wasn't right). The fact that the 360 can exist without a HD, while the Xbox thrived on it. Is bullshit. So I got a next gen system that is graphic heaven, and I still got to buy more so it'll be premium? My new controller will be wireless...you got any batteries so I can still be a premium gamer.

Odds are I'll be owning an overpriced PS3 with an $80 game I want to play, on a blu-ray disc, with loads of extra, exclusive, "no other system can do this shit" content (and maybe a 360 when the "premium" price drops).

ok so my young brother ended up getting one, and i have so far played: Perfect Dark, Quake 4, Call of Duty 2 and PG3. and i have to say, the X360 is a piece of shit. everything i thought it would suck at it does. And even things i thought it was supposed to be good with suck. Great graphics my ass. On my parents 42" high def TV i barely notice a difference between 360 and xbox. Wow there is some motion blur effects, who gives a shit.
- loading takes for friggen ever. it takes per game like 4 minutes ATLEAST of loading to play a round of multiplayer in Q4. Perfect dark is Ok multiplayer, but single player is the Worst.
-the controller sensitivity is retarded. The sticks act like n64 controllers, so i found it was hard to get good aim with them.
-Over heating. Are you fucking kidding me, we couldnt put the 360 where the xbox used to be because the fucking thing overheats and shuts off. what a piece of shit
-Xbox Points. WOW most retarded addition of all time to x-box live. Sweet i can pay $20 to download the trailers to Xmen3, great deal.

i'm even more dissapointed now than i was before i played it. This system has no redeeming qualities. it is a piece of shit, through and through. if this was street cents, the xbox 360 would be Fit for the Pit.
