Who got theirs? I sure did...got up at 3 am and stood in line at Walmart for 5 hours.

Played it for 5 hours straight after that...so amazing, so fun.

Got the premium bundle
and extra wireless controller
need for speed most wanted
perfect dark zero
kameo

gotta go to work now....shit it's been a long day

I'm too poor to get one atm... and I have other things to save my money for (car/guitar/other random shit) so I probably won't get one this year... maybe next ;)

i cant believe you bought an x-box 360. the whole concept of it makes me want to throw up.

rushed system (2 years after xbox) to capitalize on the market before ps3 can come out.

I dont care if it turns out to be the best system ever to come out, i am not going to buy it.
the POS doesnt even support HD-dvds and you have to download shit to make it backwards compatable.

garbage.

The 360 may be alright for a while, but if the PS3 kicks its ass next year I'm gonna be kicking my own for two.

Besides this core and premium system shit just turned me off completely.

I still dislike the Xbox, they dashed my GC Perfect Dark dreams. If PDZ is better then Halo 1 or even Metroid Prime. I might look into buying it next year when the price drops to compete with the PS3.

Tet, as the only person I know who pwns a 360 does PDZ live up or even compare to the original (that is if you happend to play it on the 64)?

pdz fucking rocks, it's so reminiscent of the first one. though i haven't spent as much time on it, cause i'm locked into nfs:ms.

multiplayer pdz definitely brings back memories of goldeneye and pd for the 64.

I used to love Rare games (and got PDZ on my list). Their problem is they think we can wait and wait for their games. I'll count out Kameo , and ask if a Rare game is worth it anymore.

The 360 is gonna have its days. They are also numbered. Its expected to be a year for the PS3 to come out. Microsoft has lost it's powerhouse console image. My Xbox, a few GC and very little PS2 games look comparable to the 360. We gotta see the gameplay and not graphics or else, this current-gen and almost as good as next-gen system is the fools buy. In other words, my DS has got a killer 2D game (Castlevania). I don't have a need to buy this system yet or ever.

2 years 4 years, thats not the point i was trying to make, what i'm saying is, Microsoft has No reason to release another system. The Xbox 360 only has marginal improvements over the xbox, and yet microsoft wants me to shell out $500 for the unit? and then pay for xbox live, and whatever other micromanaged paystyle they are starting (which pisses me off even more).

the xbox was great, it was microsofts forway into the gaming world, and they targeted gamers by giving them a fantastic product with some great games. Xbox360 is microsofts attempt to sell a a suped up Xbox to its base and attract new customers by offering the "new thing" before anyone else, not by offering a great product. Its all about the marketing. Xbox 360 is like the Windows Me of the OS world. windows 98 was great, but you should have waited till XP before upgrading.

Great points (I'm still on ME so cram it).

http://apnews.excite.com/article/20051124/D8E2IG780.html...umm yeah. It might be isolated...but I have never heard of a console system crashing. Hopefully this ain't a trend for next-gen systems. I'd love to have this story end with just some jealous 360-less gamers, causing shit. Otherwise we might as well abandon consoles and have all our games crashing on a good ol' Windows PC.

I played Call Of Duty 2 in Wal-Mart and I fell in love. Unfortunatly, I'm a poor college student, so I can't afford it.

I'm waiting till the price tag comes down a little to get one for me & my son. We were addicted when we tried it at wal-mart; he asks me at least once a week if we can get one yet! :)

I'm waiting till all the new consoles come out and seeing which is the best for games, price, ect, I did that this time and bought a gamecube and not regretted it (although a chipped xbox would have been nice in addition to the cube)... thb I'm most interested by the Revolution (code name for new Nintendo console) but then again I'm a Nintendo whore lol

If I were interested in the Revolution at all, I would still have to wait that out and test out that wierd controller first. It could be really cool, but at the same time, it could be really horrible. . .

you guys have no idea how much of an improvement it is over the xbox. just stick in an old game, and play then put it a new one, the difference is night and day. especially say...put in nfs: ms for xbox, then put in the 360 version. HUGE difference. no slowdown whatsoever, constant 30fps at 1080i and eyecandy galore.

don't hold your grudge against it if you've never tried it.

Thank you, I find it a great way to spend time with him, we have a good time. I wish my mom was that cool too; in other words, I want my son to have the memories I don't have. :D

Moms are cool (mine bought me an NES). Just don't buy your kid a core system 360. It might be cheaper, but it'll turn him down the dark path.

The premium system should include a wired control. That'd be awewome.

One other thing. Super, Genesis, 64, CD, revolution and 2 (were some systems better nicknames, and they described the system, as in moving up or evolving). 360 is a complete spin and you are still where you were before. It this an xbox with a supercharge that can spin the wheels harder, but still the same thing?

I think I'm gonna wait for the inevitable revised version rather than buy the pos version that they always release first.

My step dad went out and got an xbox 360 spending money that he shouldnt spend just to get it for my sisters that are 8 and 9 years old. >.< I used to just spend my money no matter what it took to get it, but now im more in control of what i buy now.. I dont want a xbox 360 really cause i dont want a bunch of systems anymore. They just cost too much now days! I want to get a ps3 but i dont want to buy one if i cant afford to. I shouldnt buy if there is more important things i need to do instead. I still like playing videogames but only certain games.. I havent been keeping track of games that are coming out but im sure ill find some games that i like if i can afford to buy them and if its ok to buy them. If i cant buy them then ill probally wont get any more games. I have enough already and i find myself growing out of playing videogames.. Im still debating wether i want to play them or not. >.<

W-t-f? Another person I thought was younger than me but must not be (since you're in college and I'm a freshman as well)...Anyways, I do think the 360 should've been released next year, but IMO it's lookin' pretty freakin' tight. I really attempted to look from an un-biased standpoint which system I'd prefer (like last time new ones came out, when I decided on xbox), and I have to tell ya' 360 won by a landslide. At first I didn't like it (coming out so early)...but damn, a buncha games were previewed/announced that looked freakin' awsome [to me]! Full Auto, Gears of War, Blue Dragon, PDZ, Mass Effect, Oblivion, DOA4, Ninety-Nine Nights, & Enchanct Arm to name a few. Blue Dragon alone almost makes me giddy...Chrono Trigger is, like, one of my favorite games ever - Blue Dragon looks like a miracle from God! Some of the early/launch games certainly aren't looking up to par w/what's possible (things will only get better as time goes on, just like w/Xbox & Ps2), but there certainly are some gems.

I think the whole technology thing is a stupid debate this generation (unless you're talking about the Revolution, lol). Quite frankly, both the PS3 AND 360 are showing some amazing upgrades. Both systems were highly underpowered last generation for what was possible, now this time they are on the current cutting edge of PC technology! It's true in a year or two PC's will have a good lead again, but the Devs of Oblivion & CoD 2 have flat-out stated their games look better on the 360 than a high end PC. Tell me, am I the only one here who doesn't even want videogames to look any more real? Call me crazy, but I kinda like it when I games still look like...well...games, lol. It's an artisitc preference. I think it's interesting that PS3 is offereing Blu-Ray...but to be honest, I really don't wanna pay for it (a DVD still holds PLENTY). The PS3 has some promising titles lined up as well...but nothing that excites my fancy like the afore-mentioned 360 stuff (look up any you don't know, they all look great!).

Anyways, I'll certainly be picking up a 360 eventually...Probably more like near the end of next year (like maybe around my birthday in August -_^), or later. It would be tight ass if they released the workable PC/360 they were discussing before since buying a PC w/the 360's specs (not possible quite yet, though, w/the triple cores) is more towards the $1,000's range rather than $100's! I'm positive at least nearly all the games I mentioned are going to be great, though, so it sure is going to be tough deciding what to get when I actually get the durned thing (especially at the stupid new industry-wide $60 thing). College is 'spensive, 'yo.
