Anyone else on here play Warhammer 40k? If you have no idea what it is then basically it's a tabletop war game with models. Kind of like a giant game of chess I guess.

I play Necrons and I painted them to look like skeletons/undead guys since they can come back to life. This is my painted army so far. I have a Lord w/ Resurrection Orb and Staff of Light, Destroyer Lord w/ Resurrection Orb and Warscythe, Tomb Spyder w/ Particle Projector, 6 Scarabs, and 27 Warriors. It adds up to about 1,000 points worth of models painted. I also have 5 Destroyers that I haven't assembled/painted yet. I'll probably be picking up some Immortals next.

My friends play Space Marines, Dark Eldar, Eldar, Imperial Guard, Tyranids. Basically every army besides Chaos. I played two games earlier today. First game against Space Marines. I shot them to hell the first couple turns and it looked like I was in the clear. Then I got mobbed in assault and they ended up phasing me out. I lost that game badly. Second game I played against Imperial Guard. First turn I blew up both of his tanks (yay guass weapons). A squad of destroyers going up the flank did a lot of damage but eventually ended up getting killed in assault. The rest of my army easily killed off the rest of the weak Imperial Guard troops. I wiped him out pretty easily. I didn't lose too much in that game besides my Destroyers and a Tomb Spyder.

If anyone else plays the game then post pics of the armies you have I love looking at pics of them. If not then please comment and proceed to call me a bid nerd

But hey, I am a nerd too. I don't play that, but I do play DnD during the summer when my friend from West Virginia visits.

Warhammer 40k looks expensive... all those damn pieces. If it doesn't cost much, I'll try to get some of my friends to play.

I used to play, then i stopped for some reason. probably the price. i still have it all (ultramarines i think, mostly with bad paintjobs), including my friends set he moved away without taking them back off me. i need to sell them sometime.

Hey chris you can you get some more close up pics? I wanna see the paint jobs in detail

It definately isn't cheap. The models cost anywhere between a couple dollars each for basic troops to 15-20 dollars for a until made from metal to 50-75 dollars for a tank. Plus you need paint, glue, brushes, and all the other modelling supplies. If you want a cheap hobby then this isn't for you

What units do you have? Post a picture If your looking to sell then eBay has tons of the stuff. Just make sure you post it with a good picture and people will bid.

I'll try but it's going to disappoint you My units look pretty good until you look at them close up

I just played the Pc Game, I loved it but I just didn`t want to spend my money for those Units.
I`m more of a videogame-Nerd

Dawn of War was actually very well done. The way you make squads and purchase upgrades etc is exactly how it works on the tabletop game. Too bad they only had 4 races in the game. And none of the ones that I play

Very true.

The first time I seen the game was at a comic book shop. I seen these kids playing the game on a painted terrain board. I just thought it was a fancy yugioh nerd game.

The PC version clued me into how deep it could be...the game has more races?

Yeah there are tons of races in the game:

Eldar
Dark Eldar
Chaos
Imperial Guard
Space Marines (many different chapters so it's actually like 10 armies in one)
Daemonhunters
Tau/Kroot
Necrons
Orks
Witch Hunters
Tyranids

Only the Space Marines, Chaos, Eldar, and Orks were in Dawn of War.

I think they will definately make another dawn of war game, with maybe 8 races. I would like to see the tyranids in a game definately.

I heard that there are two expansion packs for Dawn of War coming out so hopefully they add a couple new races into the game with those. Also, there was someone working on a mod for the game that added in the Tau. I wonder how that was coming along.

Christ. It's time like this I'm glad I grew up semi-poor. I woulda wasted my teen years with those things. Hmm maybe if they're still around when I reach my mid thirties, I can play with them then since i'll be going through midlife crisis mode anyways.

I finished building/painting 5 Necron Destroyers now. Yay

I also bought a Space Marine Chaplain w/ Bike. I converted him to have a bolt pistol in his other arm. Looks pretty cool. Going to prime him tomorrow morning so I can start painting soon hopefully.

nice paint job, i never really had the patience to do anything nice. dont have access to a camera at the moment so i can show you my laughable painting.

haha oh wow. this is awesome, i had a small army going once, GO CADIAN! Some Imperial Guard branch. I like them and the Catachan. I'll have to get some more sometime when I have money. I also did the mech warrior mini's, but they're in Missouri. I'll get pics of them when I goto Missouri, along with my cadian shock trooper squads if I can find them.
