ok, what i'm getting at is - in games like CS or quake, UT, etc... where servers have no swearing rules.

ok, so people are allowed to come in and shoot each other for pleasure, but when you say the word fuck you are warned or kicked?? I never understood - even with porn sprays, i never used them, but i could care less if someone else did.

so why is it so wrong for people to swear, but not to kill each other in game?

The point of the game is to kill the opponent. You don't see swearing on TV do you? IN our society swearing is looked upon as a bad thing. As for me, it doesn't really matter. What difference does it make when you say fuck yea, die bitch compared to hell yea, die bitch?

it's more satisfying! I dunno why, it's probibly more 'protection' for little kids who's parent's shouldn't let them play these games (fucking hypocrits) or let them go on the internet cos of 'kiddie fiddlers'....it's just shit......I hate parents like that

I don't mind if people swear like that it's just when they start doing it for no reason that it gets annoying.

I find most of the time it just turns into a whole big racist conversation that I just want no part in. So I just don't use the mic anymore and mute everyone, problem solved.

Same here, it's stupid when people do that

I've had that happen to me on a SOF server before, I was thinking hey Admin, this game is for mature gamers only (it's an 18 in england meaning even I wasn't meant to be playing it) so what was the point when we were all 'adults' to stopping me from swearing??? If there's kids on there kick them out they're too young to be playing the game and therefore the admin is encouraging law breaking??? If you ask me censoring violent adult games is stupid and needless......telling people off for swearing without reason is thogh, especially if it's racist

a game without trash talk, is not a game at all

half life is rated 15 anyway so thre should be no problem with swearing. porn sprays ok, if it was rated 18 or R or whatever, then fair enough. but nothin wrong with a bit of swearing.

indeed....admin and mods should censor according to the games rating...if it's a 12 then a little swearing, if it's a 15 full swearing and boobs...if it's 18 anything goes....no racism though....unless its against gypsies...they ain't a real race
