Ps2 Parental Control Failsafe

Okay, so I have a PS2, and I'm gonna watch Kill Bill. Now, since the movie contains people getting chopped up and stuff, it has the little parental control thing on it. So, I enter my password (0000 like everyone else, lol). What happened was it didn't work. I was so pissed for awhile. I knew I entered 0000 for my pass. I figured there must be someway to bypass that thing, so I searched.

A friend of mine called up this one friend of his, but he didn't know. So, I went to the place where all information exists... the internet.

I searched around for awhile on google, and came across some Mac fansite forums. Apparently the PS2 does have a failsafe password.

Now, for those of you who are saying "I knew that MLG. It's right in the manual". Well, one problem w/that was... I couldn't find the manual to the PS2 (found the box, but not the manuals).

Anyway, if anyone is curious, the way you bypass the lock is to go to the screen that asks for the password. Press select to go to the delete password screen, then enter 7444. It then resets it.

Afterwards, I turned the parental control thing off entirely.

Worked for me and a few other people. Anyone else know about this, or even successfully use it?

I really can't understand why Sony felt the need to put that on.... if kid's really wanted to see a movie like Kill Bill they'd just get it on video and watch it....

Yes, DVD is WAY better than VHS.

And why did Sony put that parental control deal on it? Because they could.

I know that Xbox took it a step further and not only can prevent certain movies w/certain ratings from being played, but prevent certain games w/certain game ratings from being played.

they do that because all parents are against video games..well sketchy ass parents like mine anyway believe that videogames and movies turn us into columbine wannabe phsyco murder bitches....so they believe if the parents think they have some sorta control that parents will be more willing to buy it..all the game companys have to do to stop that is buy out Oprah and Dr. Phil out of buissness cause there the fucks that convince the adults that videogames, movies, music, etc. affect us.

Violent TV programs, Movies and Games don't cause violence and drug abuse... crappy parents do...... if they stopped being so lame we'd all be perfect citizens..... the more they try to stop it, the worse it'll get.....
