sometimes Its rare to find games with A good story, plot and gameplay The leagcay of kain series has all of them(except blood omen 2)

I suggest Give one of these games a try,(it is prefered to start with blood omen so you can understand the sequls to the games)

here is a sort of proluge of each game. with a random pic of the game.

Blood Omen

In a bar in the town of Ziegsturhl, a nobleman named Kain is
refused to be served. The barman refuses to be open at such late a time at
night. Leaving dejectedly, Kain is then suddenly ambushed by several brigands.
Kain tries to fight them off but eventually he is knocked down and impaled by
his assassins' sword.

In the Underworld, Kain awakens and finds himself chained up still with his
assassins' sword stuck in his chest. Mortanius approaches him and offers to
bring Kain back to life so that he can have vengeance upon his assassins.
Burning with anger, Kain accepts blindly. Mortanius removes the sword from Kain
and releases him. Kain takes the sword and walks through the raging fires of
the underworld.

Returning to the world of the living, Kain discovers that he has become a
vampire and as such has their weaknesses such as extreme vulnerability to water
and light. Undeterred, Kain proceeds to find his assassins. Discovering his new
vampiric strength, Kain easily kills his assassins and drinks their blood to
restore his strength. Kain believes his quest is over but Mortanius corrects
him. He tells Kain that his assassins were merely the instruments of his
murder, not the cause. He sends Kain to the Pillars of Nosgoth for answers and to discover his true destiny.

*Sorry i never took pics of this game*

~Soul Reaver~

At least a thousand years after choosing to condemn the world by not
sacrificing himself and restoring the Balance Pillar, Kain created an empire,
setting the Pillars of Nosgoth as the base of his empire and the Balance Pillar
as his throne. Kain raised six vampires as his lieutenants: Raziel, Turel,
Dumah, Rahab, Zephon and Melchiah.

It was custom that Kain would evolve with a new gift then his lieutenants would
follow in turn several years after. Until one day, one of his lieutenants,
Raziel, evolved before Kain with a pair of wings. Presenting them to Kain and
his brethren in the Sanctuary of the Clans, Raziel did not expect what happened
next. Kain ripped them apart and ordered for Raziel's execution in the Abyss of
the Lake of the Dead. Following Kain's orders, Turel and Dumah threw him in.

Raziel spent centuries of burning agony and hatred towards Kain and his
brethren in the Abyss until his descent ended at the bottom. Now, Raziel
awakens in the Spectral Realm, the world of the dead. He finds his body to be
burnt severely and his lower jaw missing. He wraps his cloak around his face to
cover his face. Suddenly a voice calls to him???.

**Soul Reaver 2**

this one takes place right after SR, after a long journey to find Kain, razeil finally confronts him in Moebius' Chronoplast chamber, Kain reveals to Raziel how he found these chambers centuries ago and the vast knowledge contained within. He believes that he would have never been able to understand any of it as a human and that his vampirism has made him like a god. As he talks, he activates a switch on the wall. Kain believes that everyone's fate is predestined; everyone is forced to play out his or her fate. Fatalistically, Kain announces that free will is an
illusion.,Kain tells him that this is not the end of their destiny before walking
into the time portal. Raziel follows Kain into the portal?.

Blood Omen 2
(bo2 has nonthing to do with any of the other lok games main plot which makes this games story irellavent )

400 years after choosing to refuse the sacrifice and restore Nosgoth, Kain
awakens in an unfamiliar room with amnesia and is greeted by a female vampire
called Umah. She tells Kain that his long sleep has affected his memory. She
reminds Kain of his name and that he was once powerful.

As Kain rises, Umah tells him that when they found his body he was barely alive
and that that they brought him to where he is now, the Capital of Nosgoth,
Meridian. Umah asks Kain whether he remembers that he is a vampire, Kain shows
his fangs in response.

Umah then leads Kain to the window balcony to show him the streets outside. She
begins to remind Kain of his history. She tells Kain that he has been asleep
for 200 years. He was once General of an army of vampires but an army of
vampire hunters called the Sarafan used a new kind of magic to defeat his army.
Kain was defeated in mortal combat with their leader, the Sarafan Lord.
Everybody thought that Kain was dead.

During the 200 years that Kain has been asleep, the Sarafan took control of
Nosgoth, enslaved the humans and attempted to eliminate the vampire race. As
Kain guesses, the Sarafan have not succeeded yet, and Kain's help is needed to
destroy the Sarafan and restore order to Nosgoth.

Umah reveals that she is a member of the Cabal, a vampire resistance trying to
oppose the Sarafan. She tells Kain that the Cabal is losing since the Sarafan
with their magic, the glyph magic, are easily able to find and kill vampires
with it. The Cabal needs Kain's help.

Kain, having been 'dead' for 200 years, is unknown to the Sarafan and can go
where the other vampires cannot. Umah urges Kain to seek vengeance upon the
Sarafan Lord for defeating him and then continue his quest to rule Nosgoth.
Kain is reluctant to once again be a pawn but Umah attempts to reassures him by
telling him that all they want is for him to succeed since he succeeds, they
all succeed.

I
SR and SR2 will appeal to those who love puzzles as there is quite a few of them to solve in the 2 game its a perfect blend of puzzle and combat so both sides will be happy. Bo,bo2 and defiance is practilly nonthing but hard core combat mutalate your foes in various gorish ways.

o just cause there's a good story that doesn't continue the other sotrylines directly it's irrelevent? fuck that! the kain games aren't even the best IMO, but they can be good at times, BO 2 is a good game, good story and game. and on top of that BO 2 is a sequel in storyline to the other god damn games! just cause it doesn't follow directly to the other games it's stupid storywise? that is SO fucking stupid!

Let be more clear what i mean by it dosent follow the story and that the game is illreleavent to the rest of the story of lok. some of the chars that died in the first Bo (if you ever botherd to play the game.) are alive like janos and vorador.... in bo Vorador was beheaded by mobious and janos has been long dead killed by human sarafan razeil and his heart centiureis later given to revive kain as a vampire..

I nearly finnished SR but it pissed me off by being to annoying (in a similar way to Castlevania 64) with pixel perfect shit and stupid bosses......I dunno, I finnished the SR2 demo and thought it was ok...BO was ok and I had a go at BO2 on cube...but still they're all ok 75-85% games.....I prefer 90% + games w.out the stupidly hard bits, it's good to have a challenege but no-one likes levels that are stupidly wrong and easy to double back in (especially thinking of SR) but I guess they were fun to play until you get stuck.

I never really got stuck that much except in one or two places(not saying that i never acddenlty doubled back),most of the puzzles where trial and error if you have the patience you will get thru them. and the boses they were pretty self explatory and very easy. (except for dumah had to look up a bit of help on him)
