i got this over christmas and for a tactics game it is a lot of fun. however i wouldn't for years about it like other reviewers and not say there are no faults. the storyline while interesting is kind of kiddish and stupid, but still enjoyable. the mission system rather than going through areas and encountering storyline and random battles as you unlock more areas of the map is kind of not as good IMO. also the races and classes somewhat don;t make since, such as the big brute being weaker (at least at first) then my human soldiers because of class stats and weapons to use. also, from how far i've gone buying items isn't very exciting. in any FF game i've always had tons of money, but in this game it seems ridiculous. if i bought everyhting the shop had a buncha times i'd still have money. almost takes the fun out of getting new stuff... it is a great game worth buying, but just not the perfect tactics game ever that critique's describe it seems. i'd go on about the good points of the game and what makes it fun, but it's pretty much just a good tactics game and describing that is just describing any good tactics game only FF style.
i played tactics ogre which in some ways is a better tactics game, but yet FF:TA is has the advantage of being final fantasy and an FF storyline rather than a midevil confusion and having mages and all kinds of stuff. however TO has a counterattack system in battle (which provides more tactical strategies and more reason to attack from behind), goes through areas encountering battles and storyline battles as i described above that tactics doesn't, has some cooler races to be like birdmen that fly across the board and you can have dragons and creatures in your party right away that even evolve in a way (when you change their class they change form).
actually on a side note my TO cartridge seems to have fucked up, it saves but when i turn off my gameboy and turn it back on my save file is erased. (i was quite pissed when this happened cause i went quite far in that game and had some awsome and leveled up members. if anyone knows what i could do to fix that help me por favor :angry:
