holy shit haha just had a near death experience today. I was out on the mountains skiing it up, and a huge fog moved in and visability was basically reduced to zero.

my friends and I decided to keep skiing.
The fog dense enough that it was really really hard to tell what you were about to ski on. It was impossible to distinguish mogels from ground.

Anyways we take some trail we've never been on, and cruise down, and jet off on one of the side trails, unknown to us, we are speeding into a heavy section of mogels that we cant see. I hit them first and manage to get through one before one of my skiis lodges into the second mogel, and unclasps, leaving me skiing big mogels with one skii, i smoke the third mogel and clear it but take a huge dive on the forth and tumble down, i smoke a warning pole and one of my skii poles ($40) breaks underneath me. Fortunatly i somehow am ok, but one of my friends was right behind me, and he takes a massive wipeout and his skii equipment goes everywhere, and he misses slamming into me by about 3 feet. haha and fortunatly He's ok too.

haha it was pretty funny after the fact because i had to get my skiis, and there is just one stuck straight out of a huge mogel, haha it looked pretty sweet, i've never seen anything like it except in like a cartoon.

anyways thats my story of the day

haha yeah snoboarding is cool, but i could never get the style, it always felt way to ackward, plus skiis are like $1000 (with boots and bindings and poles) so i'm not about to trade in $1000 skiis to pay another $1000 for a snowboard

ski-ing is amazing but your right, fog and flat light sucks! i was on a traverse once in france with heavy fog and went off the side, luckly it was only about10ft drop to powder but it could have been worse!

there is no snow in florida. but there is skateboarding. if i wasnt wearing a helmet about a month ago i would have died. i dropped in a 10ft halfpipe. i wasnt in as much danger as you were but it sure felt like it. i attempted it 4 times and bailed 4 times. i suck. the humungous ramp in the back is the one that almost killed me. ok back to skiing now...

Heh, Sunshine is pretty nice...I just wish I had the money and means to go to hills whenever, lately I've only had a chance to go to COP, which sucks ass.

haha i've never actually skiied at COP, haha everyone always snickers about it, that and nakiska

i try to go out to fortress if possible, cause Sunshine and Lake Louise are such a drain on the pocket. Plus no one really skiis fortress.
The only think that sucks about fortress is that they dont have a bus from calgary, and i have no vehicle at the moment, so ican only goto sunshine and kill myself on foggy mogels

I'll probably never touch another ski pole or ride a board down a mountain.

Speaking of which, I had a friend who recently hit his knee real hard on a tree while snowboarding down a mountain.

Yeah... I tried skiing... only to find myself all fucking mad at it.

I thought you were a Brit? Or did you just move there recently? Or am I completely mistaken as to who you are?

i am a brit but i skied there for a holiday with my auntie and uncle when i was 11. we flew over for ten days, it was great, i ski in the alps when i can but it isnt very often but apparently im good so they sed i should train to be an instructor but i cant *cries*
