Last night (sunday), two of my friends and me went to a lil bar in columbus ohio too see Mushroomhead, dope, and soil live. It ended up being 6 bands total. After waiting for 2 hours to get into the place (we were the second group of people there) they annoced that there was going to be 6 bands instead of 4 (yes 4 because of a local band). The very first band to play was acutly pretty good, they from iowa and had been touring with dope and mushroomhead for the past 3 weeks. Then the worst band I've ever heard got on stage (i don't rember this because of my headbanging during mushroomhead). After that anthore local band came on stage that was ok, nothing more nothing less. After that dope got on stage, they played a small set a total of 5 songs, but it was all the songs i wanted to hear live and they were FUCKING awsome live. After dope got off stage they started walking around talking to people there, they were all cool guys. Next to get on stage was soil. Now I'm not a fan of soil but they still were good live, alot better than they are on a cd thats for sure. half way though there set me and one of my friends went out side for a bit. We came back for when the band we came to see got on stage. Mushroom head was the single best band ive seen live, there stage show was awsome. They switched things up instead of wearing there black suiets and there black jackolatern style masks masks, they all came out in all white, there lead singer in a huge white thrench coat that had a huaka (spelling?) bulit into it (he was also triping on acid at the time as well). you might be thinking that this guy would of been too fucked up to sing, thats were ya wrong. him and there other singer/screamer were great live interacting with the crowd. the rest of the band were also great, the drumer had each base drum hooked up to strobe lights so with every hit the strobes started, an amazing effect when a long double bass part took place. The keybordest (2 or 3 i cant rember), were very cool in what they did, and were the most active keyboredest ive ever seen. every thing fit perfectly together and sounded better than on the cd with almost every song being longer in at least a few parts.
