Jobs / People In The Office

Is it just me or is it clear that Young people are discriminated against in the office? even when they mind there own business? and they are hated if they make more money than the 30/40 year olds..

Take last week for me as an example...

The boss was off.. this in any company is a time to party.. very little work is done.

which in my case is admittedly true.. I only did what needed to be done.. and put off the rest.

but take 'SALES PEOPLE' they were the worst.. smoke breaks every 5 minutes... were not taking any calls.. had there feet on the desks... but then there all in there 30s & 40s.... excuse the misplaced 'THERES' I care little for which one I need to use..

I come into the office yesterday.. the boss is back everything is back to normal.. or is it... NO

All week the sales team had been taking notes of my every move.. when I was 5 minutes late.. they noted it... when I didn't take a call.. they noted it... they had a list the length of my arm & they handed it to the boss on a silver platter.. all because they feel threatened by the 19 year who is making more money than them.. Interesting? yes.. the boss of course called me in.. but as I have more intelligence in my little finger than they do in there entire bodys I got out of it with flying colours..

in closing I must announce that they will pay... dearly.. I do hope one of them reads this.

P.S BASTARDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS DIE

that's harsh dude if that happened to me I'd encourage your boss to stop people from having smoke breaks at all......that'd teach those smoking bastards......sales are useless turds anyway... I'd just make sure next time your boss goes away you get some nice evidence then either show it to your boss or blackmail them into giving u an easy time + giving you cash.......it could work really way and there's nothing better than making the bitches sweat!

oh they are sweating all right.. my diary is almost full of records of smoke breaks:)

i'm going to turn all us presenters against those bastards! it's time for a new team of sales to come in! a team that can understand that when you work in radio you work hard to get there and its not meant to be a struggle to have fun in the business! I have nothing to lose here... I could walk out tomorrow and start working for the BBC I just don't want to have to do that! i've been loyal to this station from the start.. but if it's going to let me down then i'll walk!

Doesn't the boss have some equal opportunity laws to follow up on then, or at least anti-discrimination laws?

Please tell me there are some in England.

there are but it's never worth it reporting someone - the red tape you have to go through in 'ENGLAND' is boring :D

nah you put up with it and get yourself another boss....then you do something to REALLY piss your boss off (like drop a glass infront of him and quit before he can fire you) and he/she'll be kinda like 'erm........' and the face'll be priceless and it don't matter you've quit cos you have another job to walk into! I called my ex-boss (when I worked in McDonalds summer 2002) a fat welsh twat on my last day and he couldn't do shit!

i think you should break all of the glasses...and then cut the insides of his nostrils with the shards and have him inhale a gallon of table salt

one time there was this teacher...

well it was really a lot of teachers...

well, just keep your head down and remember that in a few years the decent human beings that you have the privilege of working with will practically cease to exist(in a good way of course.) People are mean, trivial, selfish, and generally self-defeating. In the end, the only thing that matters is kindness.

of course, I could be wrong. but I don't want to take any more chances.

i would suggest that leaving in style (ie cuss ur boss out on the last day, steal a whole lot of office supplies, etc.) is great if ur job is a shit job, u dont give much of a crap about it, and that pissing the boss off isn't gonna have a great effect on ur future. if ur looking for a letter of reference or whatever, then i suggest being as courteous and fake as possible to the last minute.
