I'm basicly asking this, cause I'm kinda sick of hearing all the shit CNN is blasting on the news about how Bush apposes it and an certian religius morron.
Don't know, nor remember if it was dicussed it in the last forums. But what do most of yahs think about it.
Mainly most of are americian visiters.
You agree with you're monkey looking presidant? Or do you think by him doing this, he's basicly shooting himself in the foot next election term.
Me, I'm for it. I can tolirate if a woman wants to marry another woman(specially if I can watch the honeymoon), or a man wanting to marry an man. An frankly, have always felt that the term "marriage" ment the unity of two souls and not of the norm, man and woman. While thinking it rather crude, that a certain reglion gets to decide this shit.

Please dont let this turn into some fucking flame war.

when you put it like that, i guess it could be ok. however if you brought children into the equation, should same sex couples be allowed to have kids, then i'd say no. for the kids sake. think of all the teasing they'd get.

oh, and amodman, don't spam.

I dunno about hte kid part. Sure they may get picked on. But when you think about it, it kinda hypocritiac of denieing them the chance to adpot, because we dont denie heterosexual couples the chance to adopt if they're not able to reproduce.

Beside, although it will be around. I'm betting anything by the time we're all in are thirties. Watching two woman fuss over a baby, then suddenly kiss. would be the norm, and thus any teasing would be use-less.

However, then the question arises, how would they deal with "But mommy/daddy where is mommy/daddy? How come I don't have one?" cause I sure as hell know I would personaly ask them questions if I was said kid.

same sex marriage is good.
it promotes equality and gives those homo's a way to feel more accepted into society. So i say go nuts homo's; the world is your oyster and the guy wearing the tight leather pants is now your clam.

"Meh" is an opinion?

Anyhoo, I have no problem with it. If that's what they'd like, go ahead, I say. It's not like it's evil and hurts other people.

This government is more religious than it realises.

maybe you see it as a spiritual thing, but now marriage is a contract. it is a legal arrangement, and couples (same-sex or not) do not have full rights unless they are married because of the way insurance companies and wills and other legal things are set up. and as for the not allowing adoption, would you refuse adoption to a couple whose last name was Wang or Dick? the children would get teased just as much for something they couldn't help. there will always be teasing; when gay marriage and gay parents are more common things, there will be less victimization of the children of such unions.

and I'm sure I posted this on the old forum, but the "god made adam and eve, not adam and steve" thing is crap. first of all, I'm atheist and I don't know why this sort of idea should affect my legal rights in a country where church and state are separate. second, DUH. of course "god" wouldn't make two of the same sex to start a species. that isn't an indication of right and wrong, it's a reproductive issue.

in nature do you see animals going at it with animals of the sex alot? i mean ok theres the certain confused dog and crap but...its just natural...I have nothing against homosexuality but...you know what...its just not right....Your legal rights comment is bullshit....thats fucking saying a Man can have sexual relations and Marry a young boy...because they both have legal rights...
and most people do consider it as a spiritual thing....why are most marriages performed by a priest?

Gays should be able to marry each other. I think it would be sacrilege to marry under a church that follows the Bible though.

*thumps bible*

In Leviticus 18:22, God says: "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination (extreme disgust)."

In Romans 1:27, God says: "Women did change the natural use into that which is against nature (abomination)."

*stops thumping bible*

Whats up with the gay priest thing? Next we will have straight interior decorators.

whether or not you realize it gay marriage being legal in the US will effect every citizen of the country. marriage affords you tax breaks that you don't get when you're not married, it causes your automobile insurance to go down in some areas, and health insurance rates are lower to name just a few. The impact that this could have on the economy would be devastating. Just the billions of dollars lost in tax revenues alone make it a bad idea.

im with my monkey president on this one, screw 'em

maybe i can thump my bible along rjd here....

marriage began as the belief of a union as a covenant before God,
now we have twisted such a concept to suit a fell people,
that marriage is now contract, and can be broken, and taken
under abomination,

if its not holy union, i wont recognize it

for those of you who believe in God here, should realize,
God isnt politcally correct, and never will be

that priest be damned, he doesnt even know the bible
hes preaching
