Well I havnt posted in a longggg time! so what better way to come back, then to come back and ask for people to dedicate their time to help me solve a problem not at all related to the freeforall forum.
why you ask? because i am at my wits end.
so here is my problem:
I just built a new computer for my brother as part of a deal to buy a sweetass mountain bike off him.
key componts as follows MB: ASUS p5n-E SLI 32 speed CD/DVD combo SATA HD: 400gB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G
so the BIOS shows the SATA connection fine, it recognizes the HD, and the CD/dvd shows up as the primary slave.
now, when i goto install vista or Windows XP, the thing starts to install, like right at the start, and then freezes up before i even get to a real options screen. What the hell is going wrong, Do i need a diskdrive and bootCD with sata drivers? as far as i've read, vista should just boot up and recognize the SATA.
i'm so confused on this shit, i dont even get asked if it wants to install any drivers from a bootdisk.
suggestions/comments?
