ok every guy is taught from a young age not to hit girls. the question is, is this principle just black and white? if a man fights back does that make him the bad guy? say what you think on this topic. it should bring some liveliness to theroms.

personally I think it's okay, as long as it's justified. like if a girl punches a guy in the gut then he should have the right to punch back. however I do believe that conflicts should be avoided if at all possible.

Anyways to awnser you're question, I'll tell you something that happened to an person I know.

He started to get hit by let's say his sigifigant other at the time, now him being fairly big(6,6 210 pounds, and does construction work for a living) he wouldn't hit her back(he was also raised not to hit a woman). Now what he did do, was restrain her, I mean he simply placed his hands around her upper body/arms rather and held her like that till she calmed down. Now someone(her) called the cops, guess who got charged? the man did. They where dropped later on, as the investiagion went on, but it may tell you something.

Personally, me and a friend share this view. Since woman want equal rights, then so be it. That shall include doing EQUAL work(and it doesn't happen, examples would be a female trying to do a job that requires 50+pounds of lifting and not being able to do it and still gets the same pay if the job demands that type of stuff or how the army has differante standerds for their PT and so on).

The hitting really depends on the situation. Me, I'll more then gladly punch out a current girlfriend or female friend(and they know my views) if we're at a party and they drank to the point of being complete asses and will not stop the drinking. Or any friend for that matter, simply because they will not stop(espically if they insist on driving, that more so falls under the female friend catagory, I just let'em drink even if they makes asses outa them selves, cause at one point they're going topless and how can they do that if they're knocked out?.). I do it for two reason, the shiner will make'em think, and the hangover and extra pain from the shiner will make'em think twice. I will not however punch or hit back if she just starts beating on me or verbaly abuses me, unless I'm suddenly forced to do so if she weilds an weapon. Even then I can simply restrain her with out much hassel. . Why? because I'm 6,3 and about the same size as the gentleman I mentioned above. I can easly lift 180 pounds, and move it half a foot ball field(comes from living out in the bush and having to cut wood for the wood stove) so I do tend not to fight or do anything of the nature.

The only time anyone really should be voilent like that is if the situation calls for it. It a judgment call, not a morals call. Remember that folks. Sometimes it okay to hit that chick, but only if yah feel yah life is threatend. Or yah her domimatrix*sp*.

Hmm.. hitting a woman. No, you shouldn't ever, except for under certain conditions.
1. She is trying to kill you.
2. She is beating the hell out of you and there is no other way to get out of the situation.... and you in no way caused this.
3. She wants you to (boxing, karate, etc.)

I'm pretty passive, and don't like to hurt anyone if I don't have to....so unless something extreme happened, no pain would be inflicted from my end.

Since I'm a martial artist, I've sparred with women. No big deal in that respect. If a woman attacked me with the intent to hurt or kill me in a real life situation, I wouldn't hold back anything. However, if it was just because she was trying to beat me up, I would do my best to restrain her.

I'd be interested to see what any female members have to say on this topic.

I know this guy called big gay dave, and this fat horse of a girl called jenna kept hitting him. He was pissed at the time so he smacked her round the face.

I don't think that a woman should be able to just beat the crap out of a guy and never get hit back, because it's just unfair. legally, I think it should be about the same. however, morally I feel that anyone who is particularly strong shouldn't hit someone weaker unless it is really necessary, regardless of gender.

by the way, a lot of feminism is crap. I do believe in equal rights for everyone, with equal punishments for crimes. but a lot of what was said, particularly in the seventies, was stupid, man-hating, female-superiority crap. people like andrea dworkin (she's the one who said that every man's a rapist) fucked things up for feminism.

It is Bu||sh!+ that they can hit us but its completelly evil to hit back.

Now don't get me wrong, I am <span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>NOT</span> saying that spouse beating is right but it is a big load of crap.

spouse beating is bad either way, I've heard stories of both genders beating their spouses and it's equally bad for both.

Womens rights was a good idea, but now they use it as an excuse to get their own way, it sucks but it's our own fault for giving them the vote (only kidding bout the vote)
