I have a black cat that is the cutest lap kitty alive.

I just got a new kitten and now she's the biggest bitch alive!

the older cat is just feeling threatened by the scent of the new cat. It will be difficult ( I've had alot of cats....alot ) but it is possible for them to coexist. Is there any possible way that you could block off certain areas that you know the older cat likes to be, so that the kitten does not invade its space?

Sounds like PinkElafants has it on the nose, but yeah - it's just one of those adjustment phases. However, try to show each of them affection to show the older that she's still wanted & not being relplaced - animals (especially cats) still have a psyche, and it's more fragile than ours. Just think of it this way, they're eternally children.

one thing that works with dogs is that you actually treat one better than the other, sounds mean but if you always put one's food down first, always pet one first etc theyll sort themselves into a pecking order, like an alpha kittie
