Yep, thanks to the insights of of some MP a few years back. We have tariffs(an extra tax) on blank CD's and blank casests. So far they raised 80 million with this, and is avaliable to ANY artist who feels they been wronged. Of course they gotta fill out goverment forms and do the waiting dance for a small part of the pie.

"Step two: The RIAA uses features within Kazaa, Grokster and some other software programs to list all the files available within a person?s shared folder and takes screenshots of that information. As filed in court, that provides a record of what in some cases has been thousands of songs shared at once."

laff. step two is bullshit....anyone who is good at using photoshop could easily say that anyone is sharing anything...

Kazaa Lite has IP blockers etc. to make it harder to find out who you actually are.

an IP address is a lil 10 (or is it 12) number code that basically tells everyone else "I exist". without it, billing for net connections, or anything involving the net, couldn't happen without everyone freaking out thinking they're in contact with a virus constantly. or something like that. ok I don't really know much about it. I'm just really really lonely. *sobs quietly*

It's basically a 12 digit number that identifies your computer when your on the internet. Every computer has one and they are all unique. This way the ISP knows everything that you do. So blocking it would be a good thing :)

Can't say for sure, but you'll be safer than if you use regular Kazaa.
