I was day-dreaming in class yesterday (as usual) abnd was thinking about how my country (UK) is going to shit atm. Public transport is useless, currancey is way too strong, tax is high, companies put a pound sign over the dollar sign to make 200% prophit.....and wanted to really get out.....I don't wanna move to the US cos I don't like the idea of the CIA, FBI and stuff but I was just wondering what Canada's like cos it would give me all the advantages of the US without having to live there...anyway I know there's some Canadians out there so could you just give me an idea of what you country's like (drinking age, drug laws, law enforcement, adverage wage, that kinda thing....if you can compaire it to the UK that would be great too)

US is fine, it's not all weird, but canada is great place to move to too. just not Quebec, do NOT move to Quebec. i'd consoider moving there someday, there's also the option of colorado springs, that's a great place too, or california, florida's cool but it gets REALLY hot in the summer, and then there's the option of staying around where i am now just cause, or seeing where all my fam and friends are in the future, or just letting my job decide. so...ya, canada's a good option.

Wages differe from province to province. Here in ontario it just went up to 7.11 per the hour. from 6.85 and is suppose to steadly increase to 9 something over the next 2-4 years..
The same with the drinking ages. Ontario is 19. Quebec, last I heard it was just an suggestion. The other provinces I wouldn't know since I only got friends who are french. Things differ greatly. Education, Provincal Laws, Health Care, Insurance the hole shabang. If you want to know that sort of thing, I suggest you seriously look into it online. http://www.cic.gc.ca/ I'm sure if you root around at this site. they'll give you links for that sort of information.

And yes. You should be very use to the cold, depending on what part of canada you plan on living in.

I have always considered moving somewhere other than the UK, we own a house at the minute in Portugal.. If I was to move to USA it would be Florida - I can handle the heat & I love the place! - Only problem I find is they are very strict with entry laws.. You have to either have a full time Job offer or open a business.. but I think there are different laws if you wish to retire there. not sure Haven't really looked into it in great detail!

Canada gets way to cold for anyone to live there haha! I thought the uK got cold enough until I seen how cold Canada gets! it's great in the summer but winter is just like NOOO.

Alternativly you could move to Spain.. They allow anyone to live in Spain!

full time job offer or open a business? that doesn't sound right to me. i don't think that's right, hell look in miami, more fucking cubans than in cuba! then again those are mostly illegal, lol.

I've considered moving to Canada sometimes... too many of them would hate me cause I'm American though.

Oh well... same goes for Japan cause I'm shooting for their ATM.

Amos is half right. USA isn't TOO bad... but in my opinion, if you don't like the UK...

Don't live in America... same political shit.

Again that depends on exactly where you live in canada. Best bet is to look online at weather sites. and do the math. Where I currently live, with the wind alone it can reach minus 40 C. Back in my home town, minus 60 with the wind chill.

i have NEVER heard that. maybe in Quebec ;) , but most places in canadia land people are known for bein niceer than in amercatown. hell there's even been studies done on how much more mild it is there and there's a lot more ummm opposite of social unrest, lol. hell denver had like a bagillion deaths by guns in a year and a town in canadia land like just a ways north of there had 2, and they were both accidents like hunting stuff, lol, shows ya the difference.

Yes there is a shortage. In ontario, we're currently offering bonuses for certain things in the medical field, moving bonuses or stuff like that for doctors to go too the small parts towns in northern ontario. the goverment will also pay for half of you're schooling if taken here of course. if you agree on staying here for an certian amount of time, last I heard. one of my friends dads is an paramedic, this is how he got that information. It tempting to the point to where he thinking of going to school to become an RN.
And places to live. That depends on what type of place you'd like to live in. At best, I recommend comming over and doing a little back packing if you can. at least then you can travel the land, and see it all for you're self. one palce to aviod though like the plague. Cobourg Ontario. Jeezus fucking christ, it like living on an pimpal on satans ass, it so god awful here. There is nothing to do, if you don't drive, since all the closest bars and what not are 40 minutes away.

well quite a few around here are in alberta, which i also hear is a nice place, also i hear ontario is beutiful. just on a side note, my world geography back when said alberta is the sunniest province, and is also in the plains region. if that means anything to you, whatever.

If you want an absolute upside down of that, come to Northern Cali in the US... never freezes in the winter, and gets up to about 115*F max. lol

But if you want snow... northern cali valley is surrounded by mountains that often have snow on them all year long, including summer.

I live in Iowa and it blows here... I wish I could move to anywhere but here... it is really cold in the winter and pretty hot in the summer... it is really small here... our biggest city (the Capitol: Des Moines) has a population of 198,682... there are a lot of Methlabs here (2 of them were in my town of 600 people) ADVICE TO ALL CONSIDERING MOVING TO A DIFFERENT STATE OR MOVING TO THE U.S. DONT MOVE TO IOWA!!!!
