Hey everyone. I need some help with playstation1 emulation. First of all, I am clueless on the subject. Someone told me I have to download the emulator on the computer. Then, take the CD the Playstation game is on, burn that CD onto a blank CD, using a CD-R disk. After that I put the burned CD into my CD-Rom drive on my computer and use the emulator to run the game like that. Is this information accurate? If so, can anyone recommend a good emulator? Also, does burning the CD effect the condition of the original game CD? Any information is greatly appreciated.

First off, if your friend ment copying the playstation game onto your harddrive from the orginal disk, then burn it. THey are wrong, you can actualy use the orginal disk to play the game, all you need is an emulater. Now, if you where to go to an site and download and ISO(playstation game), then you'll have to either burn it onto a CD, or set up an virtual drive. Anyways back to you're question, try http://www.epsxe.com/ . Read the FAQ and read me file that comes with it, and enjoy yah gaming.

actualy, you need not set up a virutual drive for iso files, just have epsxe run the file, well it at least works for my bin files

Finding the roms or isos are a pain in the ass tho. Good luck finding a site with the iso your looking for, or a site with any isos for that matter. P.S. I am looking 4 a cite as well, so if you know of one, PLZ POST IT!!!!

ePSXe 1.6 can run Isos and bin files right off your HD. You can run games directly off CD but expect to have major lag caused from having to read the CD (I.E. encountering enemies in FF games). Run an extraction program to store "backup" copies of your games to the HD.
