I'm having truoble with my n64 emulator like gliches on the games, do you reckon its the emu settings or the roms I've downloaded

Most likely it is the emulator. If you got the rom from this website then it is definately the emulator; all the roms that go up on the site here are scanned first to make sure they don't have any errors. If you got it somewhere else there is a small chance it could be the rom but not very likely.

Especially with N64 roms, the emulation isn't perfect yet, or close to perfect like other systems such as SNES. Try out a couple different emulators/settings but chances are it's a bug in the emulator itself.

PJ64 is the most compatible N64 emu out there but it's FAR from perfect, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark crash my computer no matter what settings I put on (and I have an x800 XL so it's not like it's underpowered), just play with the settings and pay attention to any notes in the PJ64 menu, also post your system specs and the plugins you use because u might be using the wrong plugins or your computer might not be fast enough
