Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I think this is best related.

I'm looking to rip the soundtrack from the Nintendo 64 rom "The New Tetris," and I really can't find anything that will do this. Is there a program that's been made to copy the audio separately from a rom?

I'm open to really anything right now, but I'm aiming for one that does lossless encoding (uncompressed/etc.) directly to .wav.

Any help would be appreciated. ;)

none that im aware of, but the st was ripped and on zophars domain [http://www.zophar.net/usf/]
and with a little work, one could use the winamp plugin to convert it to .wav, and yes, its on zophars domain [http://www.zophar.net/utilities/usf.html]

Thanks, although the point of the whole uncompressed issue was that I wanted them primarily uncompressed, making it perfect quality. Converting a compressed audio file to uncompress doesn't make the quality any better...

I'll look into this, though. :)

EDIT: Oh wow, I just realized what this was. I think this should be good if I can get it working. Thanks again. 8)

Actually, i think i should also mention that 'Jabo's Direct Sound 1.5' plugin, (comes with PJ64, but you can put it in other emulators as well) can log music from games and converts it into .wav format.

I'm suprised you don't know about this so maybe i missed something. If your using Project 64 then

Go to Options > Settings , just to check that you have Jabo's Direct Sound as your audio plugin. Then after that open up the ROM that you wish to rip sound from then go to Options > Audio Plugin , and you should be able to use the 'Audio Logging' feature to extract sound, onty thing is that all sounds would be there, such as SFX and such. But you should be able to do what you want with the .wav file afterwards.

Good luck!
