it kinda explains itself. I know that the temp. internet file folder got deleted ( on purpose) and I need to figure out how to re start it. long story. it's just SOLID proof of lies... if you get what I'm sayin.

I would think that your browser is smart enough to recreate it if it doesn't exist the next time you run the program. If not that would be pretty dumb.

ohmy.
Umm, ok. If you have any seriously important files you want to keep, back them up onto a cd if you can, or use floppies if you must. If your OS is deciding to delete stuff on it's own, (due to whatever viruses) the best I can suggest is a complete system wipe/reboot. If you no longer have a copy of your OS, contact me, and I can help you out with it. ( I have any OS at my disposal as a tech, and if you still have your key, it's quite legal.) Sounds to me like your pc is just too vunrable now anyway, and you're having a hell of a time getting rid of any viruses. Starting over you can do it right - immunize the machine before something happens again. Otherwise, you can take the long, drawn out road, find your pc's infections, and use the fixes that are available. Just deleting your temp internet files doesn't always root out an infection, some live in your registry where it can do the most damage. Hope this helps!

Oh, I almost forgot - If you can't find it in a search, it's probably long gone.

yeah.. I dano WHERE it went... it's on my boyfriends computer. So I think he has done somethin with it to "coverup" any... ok ALL of trails that he may leave. Thanks for the advice. I know tho that he has re-installed everything... rebooted... and I don't think he even HAS a firewall. ugh. I hate all computers that noone knows how to manage or take care of.

go to tucows.com and look for a few things to help keep the pc clean:
spybot: removes adware and spyware on your machine. It's freeware. I like it, and it immunizes the maching against known bad products/sites/cookies/downloads, etc.
Try looking there also for a good free firewall program. :)

Oh, and if you're really having an issue with your BF, a helpful hint that a therapist gave me once: "if you don't trust the person you're with, whats the point of being with them? You're just going to drive yourself stressed with worry." So what's the point of being there if YOU know he's lying? Who do you have to prove it to if you're already aware?

Actually.. I'm in therapy.. and it's something that I'm doing for myself. We actually are a great couple and we don't have any problems. I just can't find any reason for his computer to not have a temp. internet file folder. That's all sweets. And thanks for the site.

http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan - run that it's a free online anti-spyware thing.... it might help with the random deleting thing.... otherwise use a decent anti-virus that isn't Norton or Macfee (cos they're lame and shit)
