Ok I've got a random problem with my pc..... since I upgraded from a 9800 Pro to an X800 XL I've been getting loads of random slowdowns in game.... like my pc is trying to catch up with something..... anyway here are my specs:
CPU: AMD 3000+ Barton (running as a 3100 due to a stupid mobo) RAM: 1GB DDR 2700 (single channel) GFX: HiS X800 XL (ViVo) 256MB Mobo: Asus VIA KT880 HDD: 120GB (IDE)
the stupidest thing is my mates are getting better FPS than me atm and most of them are running AMD XP 2500s - 2800s, 1GB DDR2700 (single channel) and X700 gfx cards..... I have to turn settings on some games down to minimum when my mates can run it better with worse hardware! WTF IS GOING ON?!?!?!?! Is it possible my GFX card is just too good for my PC and the gfx card is waiting for the RAM and CPU to catch up?
-also can I get dual channel ram to run as dual channel 2700? (666MHz instead of 333MHz)
