yeah i need to booster up my computer performance so i am looking at a ram upgrade, but its a little unclear as to what type.

I have a P4t socket 423 p4 motherboard (intel 850 chipset)
with DDR SDRAM

now i dont know if i have to get RDRAM or SDRAM or DDRAM, because the manual basically says nothing, and the website has almost no info on this motherboard

can anyone help me out??

I am not completely sure about any of this, so dont get pissed off if i'm wrong

i would go with RDRAM, or RIMMs, but they're rare as hell, and you have to find a mobo that can run it.

yeah i figured it was going to end up being RDRAM. Damn though, RDRam is the most expensive and you have to twin it

Intel:

810i = sdram
850e = rdram (In theory dc, but it's only one stick)
e7205 = dcddr (dual channel)
845pe = ddr
865pe = dcddr (dual channel)
875p = dcddr (dual channel)

AMD:

Nforce = ddr
Nforce 2 = dcddr (dual channel)
kt400 = ddr
kt600 = dcddr (dual channel)

Just don't get SDRAM. It's too slow now.

I think ur gonna have to end up getting RDRAM, as from what I'm seeing on the specs of ur mobo, it only uses RIMM slots in which to use RDRAM. It is a bit difficult to find RDRAM these days, as it't not to abundant these days as it is being eclipsed by DDR RAM.

Anyway, check Newegg.com and Pricewatch.com for some places to find RDRAM and whatnot.

Also, here's the specs for your Mobo:
