Why does my computer suck? Could it be the fact that I have shitty virus software, and the fact that it's a Gateway? An obsolete gateway at that. There's a question for ya.

Fuck Linux. Stick with Windows or get a mac. Don't bother with any of these 3rd name shit companies.

I'll probably get a mac. Although I have never owned one... it's a weird system to me... but then again, I've always been a windows person.

After a week I was right at home with Mac OS X. Not that different and you don't have to worry about restarting every 5 minutes when installing stuff or programs crashing the computer and the viruses etc.

Although Windows is a lot easier to work with, linux is a lot more secure. It also doesn't blow.

http://www.avast.com - it's free and good, use it and ur pc should stay virus free, also don't bother with linux because unless you're really lucky you have to configure a lot by hand and it takes ages if you've never used it before (took me a month to completly configure and recompile my Debian box the first time)

That virus program rocks:D i've been using it for an while now. It's detected crap that norton never ocne found on my system. It's also blocked quite a bit of shit on my porn forades.

And pink should only get an mac, if all she does is email, chat to people online, and the usal listen to music/movies/do artsy stuff since cs2 works wonders on it. It should also be mentioned that most macs are not upgrade friendly.

No ya don't.....just with pc's. :D Kidding. - Actually, if you're the technical type, building might be cheaper for you depending on where you are, and how much fun you want to have. But everyone so far has had good suggestions. Macs are wonderful machines, I miss mine, being that your average windows or linux machine isn't built for handling music creation software.
