do mpeg 1 codecs actually exist any more? would have thought they're just built in with windows or something.

media player 9 would prolly be most obvious solution to most probs, xcept for 3rd party codecs like divx/xvid.
wmp has caused me the odd problem before, only yesterday i installed adobe premiere 7 and it screwed it media player, everything displayed mentally. had to reinstall wmp and get rid of premiere.
