heya i have a
Aopen motherboard
1000Mhz
256MG RAM
20GIG HDD
And a 128 graphics card (Radeon 9250)

OK so the problem ive got now is that now that i have stopped it from freezing it now switches the moitor off when ever i go on normal mode.
it works fine in VGA mode and safe mode.
I cant increase the screen size in VGa mode or it will turn off the monitor but you can change it in safe mode.
Any one have any ideas of whats wrong and most importantly how to fix the problem.

Can your monitor even support those resolutions? I had my PC caught in some weird res' from arcade emulators. My up to date monitor said "go to hell" and I had to restore the registry (from DOS) just to boot up.

On another note, I bought into the ATI craze and got a 64MB PCI card of theirs. The damn thing would randomly freeze (under no activity) and render my previously passable 8mb cards games like shit.

Get the latest drivers and consult the config specifications or just get an Nvidia card and move on.

NVidia are shit mate, they can't release a stable driver to save their life.... also their linux drivers have a tendancy to break kernels and stable x-server configurations they can't even get windows drivers right.... the N-Force drivers that came with my mobo were INCOMPATIBLE with the latest drivers available on the site when I built that computer..... I wouldn't have a 7800 in my computer if someone paid me (also I have no PCIE slot :P). </rant>
