I've been trying to get msn installed on the computer here in the labs. And it won't finish the install. I've been thinking that if I go into my documents and create an short-cut to the C: drive that may bi-pass the contrals/blocks. But I don't really wana tinker around to much if you will, and then suddenly lose my only computer access intill I get my own comp. I've seen other students with it. [/quote] I'm assuming Win2000 or XP is installed. In that case you'd need the admin's pass.
I messed with plenty of cracking programs to try and bypass the protection (that I found). Even the cleverest will only work with an admin's log on (for password retrieving purposes).
I found a way around this protection by downloading from a second party site (as in downloading MSN, yahoo, and trillian off download.com or a different site with an older version and saving the target as... and running the install from it's current location).
In the end for full access, I was in an advanced course in Windows Server class and that access was vital for my teaching. So, no concrete clues just some suggestions.
