Well.. First you need a computer case with a power supply and case fan.. 450 watt computer case is perfect for any of the new motherboards id say... Next you need a motherboard.. I recently built my first computer.. I went on ebay and got a 450 watt computer case with keyboard, optical mouse and ampified speakers.. Next got a MSI K8T Neo FIS2R Motherboard,AMD 64 3000+2.0GHZ/1600mhz fsb processor/w heatsink and fan, Samsung 512 DDR ram,2 7200rpm 30gb hard drives,Benq 52x24x52 CDRW,HP DVD Writer DVD200i, and for the monitor i got a 19" inch SDM-S93B Sony lcd flat screen.. I got all this all for about $900.. Im using an old X4 AGP Radeon 64mb 7200 series videocard for now till i get a 256mb 9800 Radeon XT.. After you have your computer built theres these jumper switches you need to set on the motherboard to start the bios.. So i set the jumper switches and turned on the computer.. It turned on and i set the bios to everything according to what the manual said.. Next i pulled out my copy of win xp pro and installed it and here i am now typing on my new computer..:D This is the first computer i ever built from scratch.. The motherboard manual helped me alot with all the info i needed to put it together.. After i was finshed i thought man that was easy..:) I feel like a pro now. B) And yes it was fun.. ;) :)

I'd say the best idea is to go to a supplier and build one to your personal specs.... if youi have anywhere near that's got a warehouse you'll be abke to go doewn, ask what you need to build a PC, say your price range and say what you want it to do and they build you the best for your money......

that's what I'd do if I had cash

Building a comp is not as hard as it sounds (no, I can't say that by personal experience, but many have no probs).

Basically everyone has explained it pretty well, so I don't know what else to say.

If your looking to buy parts though, I'd use www.newegg.com or www.pricewatch.com myself.

I'll be in your same shoes too Moonlight... once, like Nataku, I get enough money.

Oh and even this isn't introductions, welcome to theroms. Feel free to ask questions about anything (that isn't stupid).

Dude, you got a 19" CRT, not an LCD. A 19" LCD is around $900 alone.
