Cos they seriously recked the English version....also does the new one have Japaneese audio...dunno why but I like to watch stuff like Hellsing in Jap with English subs

what thew hell you talkin bout the kid and woman do not appear. since i apparentl downloaded the remake of the original and thought it was the original i believe i can shed some light, YOU'RE THINKING OF GOD DAMN BLOODLUST! the sequel. there's vampire hunter d, and vampire hunter d bloodlust. i have both dl'ed and watched since a LONG time ago. there's a kid and woman in vamp hunter d, not bloodlust

a re-release & a re-make are not the same thing...both movies are titled "Vampire Hunter D" in japan the american box are the ones with the "bloodlust" title

Man, this is such a stupid arguement.

It goes like this:

Vampire Hunter D was released in Japan
Vampire Hunter D is translated and released in N.A.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is released in Japan
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is translated and released in N.A.

They are two completely different movies. The storylines are fairly the same, but not quite. One is not a sequel or prequel to the other because there is no mention or direct similarity between them. Bloodlust MAY have been made as a "renovated" Vampire Hunter D, but it is a completly different movie.

End of Story.

they are both based off of novels by some japanese guys, a series of novels. bloodlust doesn't directly derive from the original other than the fact that it's supposedly just later in the dunpeal's life, because it's based off of a later book. i believe the original was based off the first book and bloodlust is based off of the third, also those links are to american new versions of both movies, there are also japanese. bloodlust isn't some remake or "only appears on american boxes" although when it was first released in japan i think they were just calling it vampire hunter d 2000, later changed to bloodlust cause, it's just a better name. the newer made original version made in japan in early 90's i believe was released in america either later 90's or 2000 and bloodlust was released 2001.
