Hell, most RPG's that I do actually get into I get bored with after a little bit.

eff an mmo. im lookin for shit to pirate kids. i dont wanna mess with free servers and my mouse is shitty so no fps' either.. are there not any good games for the pc that arent mmo or fps?

If he wants to download 4.5 gigs for mgs2. Then yes, its worth it.

As for rpgs on the pc, that you MAY find for bittorrent.
Planescape Torment(Go nuts you can no longer find an copy for sale), Baldur's Gate 1,2(buy'em if you find'em worth the 10 bucks total), fallout 1 and 2(same as BG). All by bioware and blackisles, if you're not an graphics whore enjoy.
MorrowWind plus exansions bloodmoon, and tribunal(be prepared to walk, and walk some more if you enjoy exploring). Ultima IX if you can find an torrent for it. The rest of the Ultima series you can find mainly on abandon ware sites.
Breath of Fire 3 and 4 I do believe have also been released for PC if you don't already have'em for yeah playstation.
System Shock 2: FPS but you can custimze skills and so forth so it and fps/rpg type hybrid, and very good too.
Blood Omen:Legacy Of Kain abandware. I believe underdogs has it.
Diablo 1/2 plus expansions. not bad if you like to, click,click,click,click,click.
Final Fantasy 7, all four disks=1.2 gig+ and if i'm not mistaken 8, 9 where also released for pc.
